New Tariff for GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.

The President of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) approved the new Tariff of the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. on 17 May 2010.  The Tariff will enter into force on 1 June 2010.

The transmission service fee rate will increase by an average 3.4% in relation to the previously binding tariff.  There has only been a several percent impact of the gas transmission fee on the final price paid by natural gas Customers.

Gas transmission fees are the basic source of revenues of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., however, the costs of the Company taken into account in the tariff have not risen despite numerous planned investments.  The adjusted revenue of the Company remains on the same level in relation to last year.

Transmission fee rates are calculated based on the volume of transmitted gas. In 2009, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. transmitted approx. 5% less gas in comparison to 2008.  Therefore, despite maintaining Company costs and adjusted revenue on the same level, the average transmission fee rate per 1 m3 of gas has increased only slightly.

The Company is planning to build over 1,000 km of new gas transmission pipelines by 2014. Strategic gas pipelines will be constructed in North Western and Central Poland (Szczecin-Lwówek, Świnoujście - Szczecin, Szczecin – Gdańsk, Włocławek – Gdynia, Rembelszczyzna – Gustorzyn, Gustorzyn - Odolanów). The Company is also building a new Poland – Czech Republic interconnector and is developing the gas transmission pipes in Lower Silesia, which will enable the off-take of increased amounts of gas through the Lasów point on the Polish-German border.

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is the owner of the LNG S.A. Company which was appointed to construct and operate the liquefied natural gas terminal (LNG) in Świnoujście.

The Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is a strategic, wholly-owned State Treasury Company responsible for the transmission of natural gas throughout Poland. The Company manages assets worth in excess of 5 bn PLN comprised mainly of elements of the transmission system, e.g. more than 9.7 thousand km of high pressure pipelines, 14 compressor stations, 56 hubs and 970 exit points. The Company employs 2,000 people.
