GAZ-SYSTEM has made a donation in the amount of PLN 250,000 for the benefit of the Hospital in Świnoujście

GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. (owner of the LNG Terminal) decided on granting financial aid towards the Świnoujście Municipal Hospital named after Jan Garduła. The funds shall be allocated for the sake of tasks related to the counteract against coronavirus infections. 

The co-financing shall encompass the most urgent needs as agreed upon with the hospital management in the field of medical equipment&devices and personal protective equipment, i.e.:

1. ventilator having the option of monitoring indirect calorimetry testing,
2. apparatus for continuous renal replacement therapy,
3. HEPA masks,
4.  suits.

Furthermore, the Management Board of Polskie LNG (GAZ-SYSTEM Capital Group) decided to rent a vehicle aimed for supporting the hospital’s needs.

When bearing in mind the care of the residents of Świnoujście, we decided, on a prompt basis, to support the municipal hospital. Providing additional materials and equipment for the performance of this medical facility shall also increase the security of our employees who care about the continuity of the LNG terminal operations - an important gas supply point to Poland,” as emphasised by Tomasz Stępień, President of the Management Board of GAZ-SYSTEM. 

This very donation represents another one which GAZ SYSTEM has donated to combat the coronavirus epidemic in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Earlier on, the co-financing was granted towards the Military Hospital in Wałcz, which is listed amid infectious wards indicated by the Ministry of Health for patients suffering from coronavirus infection (SARS-COV-2 / COVID-19). In this case, the amount of PLN 665,000 was donated for the purchase of, either, beds for patients, personal protective equipment for medical staff, as well as life support devices. 

The help is also being given by trade unions operating within the company. The Sub-Union Committee of NSZZ “Solidarność” - GAZ-SYSTEM Branch Office in Poznań has decided on making a donation of PLN 10,000 – to fight the epidemic – for the benefit of the Multispecialistic Municipal Hospital named after Józef Struś in Poznań, entered on the list of infectious wards for patients suffering from coronavirus infection.

 

GAZ-SYSTEM plays a strategic role in the Polish economy. We are responsible for natural gas transmission and operate the most important gas pipelines in Poland. As part of the 2015-2025 investment programme, GAZ-SYSTEM plans to build over 2000 km of new gas pipelines in western, southern and eastern parts of Poland. Further development of the national transmission network, including the construction of new gas pipelines making part of the North-South Gas Corridor, as well as the construction of interconnections with the neighbouring countries, will strengthen Poland’s energy security and make an important contribution to the development of the European transmission system.

The Company is implementing one of the most important infrastructural projects in Poland – the Baltic Pipe project, which consists in the construction of a bidirectional offshore gas pipeline connecting Poland and Denmark and the expansion of the local transmission network.

GAZ-SYSTEM also owns Polskie LNG, the operator of the President Lech Kaczyński's LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.
