Baltic Pipe with another permit for the onshore part

The Governor of West Pomerania Province has issued a building permit for a section of the DN 1000 Goleniów-Lwówek gas pipeline. GAZ-SYSTEM now has all the required permits to start the construction of an 83-kilometre long section of the pipeline in West Pomerania Province.

The route of the entire gas pipeline, which is 191 km long, passes through three provinces: West Pomerania Province, Lubusz Province and Greater Poland Province.

GAZ-SYSTEM has completed the full documentation necessary to start building the high-pressure gas pipeline in West Pomerania Province and Greater Poland Province. These two sections have a total length of ca. 103 km. They will be located in the following communes: Goleniów, Maszewo, Stargard, Dolice, Przelewice, Pełczyce (West Pomerania Province), as well as Międzychód and Lwówek (Greater Poland Province).

The building permit for Lubusz Province is to be issued soon. This will be the last of all administrative consents required to start building works along the whole Goleniów-Lwówek pipeline.

The Baltic Pipe project consists of 5 components. One of them is the extension and modernization of the Polish natural gas transmission system. It will involve connecting the offshore gas pipeline with the existing system, building and modernizing 3 gas compressor stations and building the Niechorze-Płoty and Goleniów-Lwówek gas pipelines.

GAZ-SYSTEM plays a strategic role in the Polish economy. We are responsible for natural gas transmission and operate the most important gas pipelines in Poland. As part of the 2015-2025 investment programme, GAZ-SYSTEM plans to build over 2000 km of new gas pipelines in western, southern and eastern parts of Poland. Further development of the national transmission network, including the construction of new gas pipelines making part of the North-South Gas Corridor, as well as the construction of interconnections with the neighbouring countries, will strengthen Poland’s energy security and make an important contribution to the development of the European transmission system.

The Company is implementing one of the most important infrastructural projects in Poland – the Baltic Pipe project, which consists in the construction of a bidirectional offshore gas pipeline connecting Poland and Denmark and the expansion of the local transmission network.

GAZ-SYSTEM also owns Polskie LNG, the operator of the President Lech Kaczyński's LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.
