Supplier's Day at GAZ-SYSTEM

For the sixth time, the company has organised a meeting with contracting companies as part of the Supplier's Day, which took place on 20 September 2019 in Warsaw. GAZ-SYSTEM maintains a constant dialogue with the market of design and construction companies to implement the largest investment plan in the history of the Polish gas industry.

Tomasz Stępień, President of GAZ-SYSTEM, points out that the strategy adopted by the company assumes the implementation of a number of complex investment projects, such as: Baltic Pipe, North-South Corridor, interconnectors. The expansion plan for the transmission network generates growing needs in the area of design services, supplies and construction works. - We're analysing the construction market on an ongoing basis. We know what is happening in the industry and what changes are taking place in it. We are also aware that our company must take them into account in its operations. All this so that the construction market can prepare in advance for the implementation of our investment plan - said Tomasz Stępień, President of GAZ-SYSTEM.

- However, for this to be possible on the side of contractors and suppliers, we must have a partner who, like us, will recognise the implementation of the contract as a shared goal. We know that there are areas for further work, and today's conference is a great place to freely exchange experiences that can translate into effective and timely implementation of contracts - he added.

Agnieszka Olszewska, Purchasing Division Director at GAZ-SYSTEM, emphasised that the company is interested in building partner relations with contractors. - We are talking with our business partners to find out their expectations from the investor - she added. She noted that GAZ-SYSTEM has already introduced significant changes to contractual provisions having a positive impact on the financial liquidity of contractors.

In addition, the company makes purchases maintaining the principles of fair competition and equal treatment of contractors. The procurement process also includes a list of reliable suppliers, which rewards companies that reliably fulfil their contracts. - The technical dialogue used by GAZ-SYSTEM in the case of complex projects allows to develop solutions so that the implementation of the order is realistic for both parties. We will make every effort to ensure that the description of the contracted works is precise, unambiguous and understandable for all bidders - she added at the end.

GAZ-SYSTEM plays a strategic role in the Polish economy. We are responsible for natural gas transmission and operate the most important gas pipelines in Poland. As part of the 2015-2025 investment programme, GAZ-SYSTEM plans to build over 2000 km of new gas pipelines in western, southern and eastern parts of Poland. Further development of the national transmission network, including the construction of new gas pipelines making part of the North-South Gas Corridor, as well as the construction of interconnections with the neighbouring countries, will strengthen Poland’s energy security and make an important contribution to the development of the European transmission system.

The Company is implementing one of the most important infrastructural projects in Poland – the Baltic Pipe project, which consists in the construction of a bidirectional offshore gas pipeline connecting Poland and Denmark and the expansion of the local transmission network.

GAZ-SYSTEM also owns Polskie LNG, the operator of the President Lech Kaczyński's LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.
