GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. expands the Rembelszczyzna gas compression station

At the end of November 2014, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. signed an agreement with a consortium of companies concerning the expansion of the Rembelszczyzna Gas Compression Station as a part of the construction of the gas pipeline at the section of Rembelszczyzna-Gustorzyn.

The agreement was signed with a consortium of companies selected under the public bid procedure. The consortium leader is PBG OIL AND GAS Sp. z o.o., and consortium members are also Przedsiębiorstwo Inżynierskie Ćwiertnia Sp. z o.o. and Eltel Sp. z o.o.

The project of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. will be carried out in the “design and construct” formula. The agreement provides for the preparation of a design, the designer’s supervision over the project, the purchase and delivery of three compression units, equipment, materials and fittings, as well as the performance of works, including start-up works connected with the expansion of the Rembelszczyzna Gas Compression Station.
The net value of the agreement is almost PLN 138 million. The agreement was executed for 24 months.

The Rembelszczyzna Gas Compression Station will be expanded to adjust it to the increased MOP pressure of 8.4 MPa and increased gas streams connected with including high pressure gas at the section of Rembelszczyzna - Gustorzyn in the existing gas compression station in Rembelszczyzna in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.
Investor, environmental and archaeological supervision over the project will be provided by OTS-IP Sp. z o.o, which was selected under the public bid at the end of November 2014.

”The Rembelszczyzna Gas Compression Station is a very important element of the Polish transmission system. The purpose of the project is to achieve higher gas transmission pressure parameters and additional transmission capacity of around 440 000 m3/h. The expansion of the Gas Compression Station will also contribute to increasing gas transmission capacity for the newly constructed Warsaw ring supplying gas to recipients in Warsaw and surroundings”, points out Jakub Stypuła, Head of the Investment Division of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.
The construction of the Gas Compression Station in Rembelszczyzna is planned to be co-financed with EU funds.

2014-2023 Investment Programme
The next stage of the development of the Polish transmission system will consist in constructing new gas pipelines coming within the North-South Gas Corridor supported by the European Union, which will enable to fully integrate the transmission infrastructure in this part of Europe.  For that purpose, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. plans to construct approximately 2000 km of new gas pipelines in west, south and east Poland in the years 2014-2023. At the same time, new gas connections with EU countries (including, without limitation, Poland – the Czech Republic, Poland – Slovakia, Poland – Lithuania) are also planned to be constructed.

GAZ-SYSTEM is a strategic company for the Polish economy. It is responsible for the transmission of natural gas, manages the most important gas pipelines in Poland and owns the President Lech Kaczyński LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.

As part of the 2015-2025 investment programme, GAZ-SYSTEM is constructing over 2000 km of new gas pipelines in the western, southern and eastern parts of Poland. Over a dozen new gas pipelines are under construction within the North-South Gas Corridor and the compressor station in Kędzierzyn Koźle, as well as interconnections with Lithuania and Slovakia. Onshore gas pipelines are planned to connect the planned FSRU floating terminal in the Gulf of Gdansk with the national transmission system. The LNG Terminal in Świnoujście is also being extended, as a result of which the regasification capacity of this facility will be increased by more than a half.

The company is also implementing one of the most important infrastructural projects in the country - the Baltic Pipe project which consists in the construction of a two-way offshore gas pipeline connecting Poland and Denmark, expansion of the local transmission network and three gas compressor stations.
