Strachocina Gas Compressor Station
Description of the Investment Project
The Strachocina gas compressor station will be built as part of the project involving construction of the Poland-Slovakia interconnection.
The contractor of design work is PGNiG GAZOPROJEKT SA.
Construction is planned for completion in 2021.
Location of the investment project
The investment project will be located in the Sanok commune (Podkarpackie voivodeship) in Strachocina.
Benefits
Strachocina Gas Compressor Station will constitute a significant element of the concept of building the regional North-South Gas Corridor and fulfilling several important functions, including:
• securing gas supplies in crisis situations and in the situation of reduced possibilities of supplies from the side of the Ukraine,
• bringing gas to the southeastern part of Poland, which possesses a developed gas transmission system and storage facilities,
• export of gas from Poland based on supplies from the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście, and in the future, the possibility of gas obtained from unconventional deposits.
Legal grounds
The project is carried out under the Act of 24 April 2009 on investment projects related to the Świnoujście LNG regasification terminal (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1554 – consolidated text, as amended). The gas pipeline has been entered into the catalogue of accompanying investment projects pursuant to the Act of 30 May 2014 on the amendment of the act on investment projects related to the Świnoujście LNG regasification terminal and the act on real estate management (Journal of Laws of 2014, item 906).
