Zdzieszowice-Wrocław gas pipeline

Description of the investment

The aim of the project is the construction of the Zdzieszowice-Wrocław gas pipeline  measuring approximately 130 km. The gas pipeline will be routed through dolnośląskie and opolskie voivodships.

At present  GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. has been working on the feasibility study concept
for the project. The investment is on the reserve list of projects for the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.

  • estimated value of the investment: 620 MM PLN
  • planned co-financing from OPI&E: 340.28 MM PLN

Projects of Common Interest

Pursuant to the Decision of the European Commission dated 19/11/2012, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and NET4GAS s.r.o. obtained financial support for the project entitled "Pre-investment studies and works in the scope of the use and possibility of further development of the intersystem gas pipeline between Poland and the Czech Republic" under the TEN-E programme. The total amount of the financial support for GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and NET4GAS s.r.o is EUR 2,300,000.

In October 2013, the European Commission granted the status of the Project of Common Interest to the project. More information about the meaning of PCI status for the development of the gas transmission infrastructure is presented here and in the brochure on PCI projects. Subject to meeting additional requirments, the project might also be eligible for the EU funding under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which will apply under the European Union financial perspective 2014-2020.

Environmental decision for the Zdzieszowice-Wrocław pipeline

The Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Opole, acting in consultation with the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Wrocław, is conducting a procedure on issuing a decision on environmental conditions for the “Construction of gas pipeline Zdzieszowice – Wrocław DN1000 MOP 8.4 MPa ca. 130 km with adjacent facilities and the necessary service infrastructure, including ca. 46 km long Section I: Brzeg – Zębice – Kiełczów, ca. 84 km long Section II: Zdzieszowice – Brzeg”.

The execution and impact of the Zdzieszowice – Wrocław gas pipeline construction stage covers the following Gminas in the Opole Voivodeship: Krapkowice, Zdzieszowice, Tarnów Opolski, Opole, Dąbrowa, Prószków, Leśnica, Olszanka, Skarbimierz and Lewin Brzeski and the following Gminas in the Lower Silesia Voivodeship: Oława, Czernica and Długołęka.

The project has been supported by an environmental impact report.
