Tworóg - Tworzeń gas pipeline
Description of the investment
The purpose of the project is to construct a high pressure gas pipeline at the Tworóg – Tworzeń section of the diameter of 1000 mm and the length of approximately 56 km in the Śląskie Voivodeship.
The gas pipeline will mostly run along the existing high voltage pipeline in the territory of municipalities of Tworóg, Tarnowskie Góry, Miasteczko Śląskie, Ożarowice, Mierzęcice, Siewierz, and Dąbrowa Górnicza.
The project will be carried out by TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING S.A. in Kraków.
The investment is planned in the years 2017-2018.
Advantages of the investment
As a result of the planned investment, the security and reliability of natural gas transmission in the territory of Opole and Silesia, and transmission capacity and natural gas source diversification in Poland will increase. In addition, the Tworóg – Tworzeń gas pipeline will form an element of the North-South Gas Corridor that connects the LNG terminal in Świnoujście with the planned LNG terminal in Croatia.
An important advantage for local communities will be a yearly real estate tax of 2% of the value of the gas pipeline section located within a given municipality that will be paid by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.
Cost of the investment
Estimated value of the investment: approximately PLN 372 million.
