Tworóg - Kędzierzyn Koźle gas pipeline
Description of the investment
The purpose of the project is to construct a high-pressure gas pipeline at the section from Tworóg to Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The pipeline is to be around 46 km long. Its diameter will be 1000 mm.
The gas pipeline will be located in:
• the Śląskie Voivodeship, in the municipalities of Tworóg, Wielowieś, Toszek, Rudziniec,
• the Opolskie Voivodeship, in the municipality of Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
The gas pipeline will mostly run along the existing high-pressure gas pipeline.
Planned project duration: 2017 – 2018.
The project will be carried out by the Consortium of MGGP S.A. in Tarnów and MGGP PROJEKT Sp. z o.o. in Kraków. which was selected during the public procurement procedure.
Advantages of the investment
The project will improve the security and reliability of natural gas transmission in the Opolskie and Śląskie Voivodeships. It will also increase transmission capacity and the diversification of natural gas sources in Poland. In addition, the Tworóg – Kędzierzyn-Koźle gas pipeline will be an element of the North-South Gas Corridor, which connects the LNG terminal in Świnoujście with the planned LNG terminal in Croatia.
An important benefit for local communities will be a real estate tax of 2% of the value of a gas pipeline section located in a given municipality which GAS-SYSTEM S.A. will pay every year.
Cost of the investment
Estimated investment value: around 311 MM PLN.
