Odolanów Gas Compressor Station
Description of the Investment Project
Construction of the Odolanów Gas Compressor Station is a facility project which has been planned as part of the North-South Corridor in the South and West of Poland.
At present, the pending construction stage involves transfer of 3 compressor units from Jeleniów I Gas Compressor Station being under liquidation. The new facility will be located in the recently enlarged and modernised transmission hub in the town of Odolanów.
This investment stage is expected to be accomplished by the end of 2016, and its value if estimated at ca. PLN 20 m.
The main advantage of this investment project involves the possibility of directing any gas surplus from the Lasowo direction to the Wierzchowice underground gas warehouse (PMG) (and use also other facilities/ hubs) and ensuring the possibility of compressing the gas stream directed to PMG Wierzchowice.
The construction of the Odolanów Gas Compressor Station is intended to be co-financed by the EU.
Project of Common Interest
In October 2013, the European Commission granted the ‘Project of Common Interest’ status to this investment project. More information on the importance of the PCI status for the development of the gas transmission infrastructure can be found in this tab and in this PCI brochure. If additional requirements are met, EU funds can be also obtained as part of the ‘Connecting Europe Facility’ (CEF), which is going to be included in the EU budget for the years 2014-2020.
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is executing the enlargement project of the Odolanów Gas Compressor Station while respecting the rights of all interested stakeholders.
