What investments has the Company planned for the next few years?
The investment plans of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. are closely related with the market needs. Strategic investment tasks will be performed in northwest Poland, among other things on the following gas pipelines – Szczecin-Gdansk, Wloclawek-Gdynia, Szczecin-Lwowek and the Goleniow compressor station. GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. intends to develop the natural gas transmission network to be able to connect undertakings that are currently submitting their requests. The network development in northwest Poland is also connected with the plans of PGNiG SA concerning obtaining new sources of gas supplies on the Polish coast (construciton of an LNG terminal and the BalticPipe pipeline). GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. is planning to construct over 600 kilometres of new natural gas transmission piplines in Poland up to 2014.

What legislation shapes the gas market in Poland?
The fundamental regulations applicable to the energy sector in Poland have been established by the Energy Law of 10 April 1997 (Dz. U. 2003, no 153, item 1504 as amended). The purpose of the act is to create conditions for sustainable development of the country while ensuring the energy security, economical and rational use of fuels and energy, development of market competition, and to prevent negative effects of natural monopolies taking into account the environmental considerations and [obligations in respect of international agreements, consumer protection and cost minimisation]/[to balance the interest of energy undertakings and fuel and energy users].
