GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. plans to build more than approx. 2000 km of new pipelines in western, southern and eastern parts of Poland in 2015-2025.
Further expansion of the national transmission network and creation of new pipelines as part of the North-South Gas Corridor as well as the construction of inter-system connections with Lithuania, Slovakia and Czech Republic will make a great contribution into the development of the European transmission system.
Between 2009 and 2015, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. implemented an investment plan covering the construction of more than 1200 km of new gas transmission pipelines. The most significant projects of this kind were completed in north-west and central Poland.
The investments carried out by GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. and the virtual reverse service on the Jamal gas pipeline allowed for the substantial improvement of the power security of Poland by increasing the technical capacities of import from directions other than the east up to 90% of total import (till 2011, this was 9%).
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. actively participates in the development of the integrated network of gas pipelines in Central Europe and influences the shape of the European gas sector. Our transmission infrastructure expansion proposals for Poland overlap with the EU plans of the construction of new connections aiming at increasing the power security and enabling to diversify the natural gas supply from new sources.
