Due to the nature of the business activity conducted by the company, some GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. employees may be particularly at risk from accidents at work or occupational diseases which is why the company applies the highest occupational health and safety standards.
In order to minimise the risk of accidents taking place at work, employees are trained in the principles of OHS and each position is evaluated in terms of the professional risk. There is also a safety management system in the company and appropriate first aid procedures as well as actions geared towards minimising the occupational health and safety risks of the employees.
There is a Social Labour Inspection Officer in the company to ensure the safe and hygienic work conditions that are required by appropriate provisions of the law. The conditions safeguarding the safety and health of employees are also specified in contracts with trade unions.
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. not only cares for the health and safety of its own workers and members of staff but also works to protect the employees of suppliers and sub-contractors participating in projects performed by the company. The company organises special seminars for them about occupational health and safety and environmental management in performing gas hazardous works.
In 2011, GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. was accepted into the Safe Work Leaders' forum. The company successfully passed the verification procedures in the scope of occupational health and safety results performed by a special committee operating in the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute.
GAZ-SYSTEM S.A is also involved in educational events connected with occupational health and safety. The company also joined the “Sate Workplace” initiative within which it organised the national conference titled ”Safe Workplace in Explosion Atmosphere Zones,” which was aimed first and foremost at companies operating in the gas sector as well as a an art competition for the children of GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. employees titled “How I imagine my Mum/Dad's safe workplace.”
The company also became a partner of the social campaign called “Accident Prevention.” The tasks fulfilled within the campaign consisted mostly of promoting good practices in cooperating with sub-contractors, raising knowledge and awareness about accident prevention and safety as well as propagating occupational health and safety principles for work at heights.
